Write at least 150 words.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The diagram illustrates the process of manufacturing bamboo fabric from bamboo which are used to make useful clothes.
Overall, it seems that the whole process includes eight steps to produce clothes which are needed to individual in their daily life. The various steps are from planting a bamboo plant to a farm to making a weave to make a fabric.
At the very early stage, the bamboo is planted in the spring season which has the excellent temperature to grow in proper condition. Afterward, in autumn growing to the certain length and which also get completely developed the farmer harvest all the bamboo trees for further process. Third step is to cut the trees into required strips with the help of cutter machines. These strips goes under crushing process in the result to extract the liquid pulp. Thereafter, the long fibres is been separated from the liquid through the filters and in next step these fibres are added with water and amine oxide to soften the fibres for manufacturing yarn by the spinning procedure. Moreover, the yarns are used for weave to manufacture the fabrics. The industries produce the clothes from weave fabrics.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers the main stages of the process, from planting to the final production of clothes. However, the overview is somewhat repetitive and lacks a clear summary of the key features of the process. While the steps are identified, the description is a bit mechanical. To improve, you should focus on grouping the stages more logically (e.g., cultivation, processing, and manufacturing) and ensure the overview highlights the transformation from raw material to finished product more concisely. The inclusion of unnecessary commentary about clothes being 'needed to individual in their daily life' detracts from the objective tone required for an Academic Task 1 report.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The response is generally coherent, and the progression of steps is logical. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Afterward', 'Third step', 'Thereafter', and 'Moreover' to link the stages. However, the paragraphing is insufficient; the entire body of the report is contained within one long paragraph, which makes it harder to follow. Dividing the text into clear paragraphs—one for the cultivation/harvesting phase and another for the industrial processing phase—would significantly improve the structure. Additionally, some transitions feel slightly forced or repetitive.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to describe the process clearly. You use some relevant technical terms like 'liquid pulp', 'amine oxide', and 'spinning procedure'. However, there are some awkward word choices and minor errors, such as 'weave to manufacture' (should be 'weaving') and 'weave fabrics' (should be 'woven fabrics'). The range is somewhat limited, and you rely on basic phrasing to describe the steps. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise verbs and nouns related to industrial processes, such as 'extracting', 'refining', or 'converting'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. For example, 'bamboo which are used' (should be 'is used'), 'the long fibres is been separated' (should be 'are separated'), and 'in the result to extract' (should be 'to extract'). There are also issues with article usage and pluralization, such as 'to a farm' and 'the industries produce the clothes'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage will help improve your accuracy.
