Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 3.0
The response is significantly under the 150-word minimum requirement, which severely impacts the task achievement. Because the essay is incomplete and cuts off mid-sentence, it fails to provide a summary of the entire process shown in the diagram. It only covers the initial stages of harvesting and preparation, neglecting the chemical and mechanical processing steps that follow. To improve, you must ensure you describe the full cycle from raw material to finished product and meet the minimum word count to allow for a full development of the task requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The response lacks a coherent structure due to its unfinished state. While there is an attempt at an introduction and an overview, the lack of a conclusion and the abrupt ending make it difficult to follow the logical progression of the process. Cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore' and 'moreover' are used, but they are not sufficient to create a sense of flow given the fragmented nature of the text. Paragraphing is also underdeveloped, as the response ends prematurely before the process can be fully explained.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'Making process starts' and 'it sends to industries' are simplistic and lack the precision required for a technical process description. There are also issues with word choice, such as 'labours' (referring to the people rather than the action) and the misuse of 'Spring season' as a general timeframe for the entire production. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more specific process-related vocabulary, such as 'extraction,' 'conversion,' or 'chemical treatment.'
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The grammar is limited and contains several errors. There are issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'production... has taken place' and 'it sends to industries' (which should be passive voice: 'it is sent'). The sentence structure is simplistic, and the response ends with an incomplete sentence fragment ('moreover strips'), which prevents an assessment of more complex grammatical structures. Focus on using passive voice consistently when describing industrial processes and ensure all sentences are complete.
