Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which negatively impacts the score. While you have identified the main stages of the bamboo manufacturing process, the description is quite basic and lacks the necessary detail to fully develop the report. For instance, you mention 'liquid pulp' and 'long fibres' but do not explain the transformation process clearly. Furthermore, the summary is underdeveloped; it merely repeats the start and end points rather than synthesising the key features of the process. To improve, ensure you expand on the technical steps and meet the minimum length requirement to allow for a more comprehensive overview.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is organised into short paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the sequence of events. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'in the first step', 'secondly', 'then', and 'after that' to link the stages. However, the progression is somewhat mechanical and repetitive. The paragraphing is also quite fragmented, with some sentences standing alone. To reach a higher band, try to vary your linking words and combine sentences to create a smoother flow of information. Ensure that your overview is clearly separated from the body paragraphs to improve the overall structure of the report.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for describing a process, but it is quite limited and repetitive. You rely on basic verbs like 'made', 'cut', and 'crushed'. There are also some errors in word choice, such as 'weaved is used' (should be 'weaving') and 'shocks' (likely a misspelling of 'socks'). To improve, you should incorporate more precise technical vocabulary related to manufacturing processes, such as 'processed', 'extracted', 'converted', or 'transformed'. Expanding your range of synonyms will help you avoid repetition and demonstrate a better command of the language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles (e.g., 'bamboo plant is planted', 'it is easy process') and word forms (e.g., 'weaved is used'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas and periods. While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors indicate a lack of control over complex structures. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and ensuring that your sentence construction is grammatically sound before attempting more complex forms.
