Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement score. While you have identified the main stages of the bamboo manufacturing process, the description is overly simplistic and lacks the necessary detail to fully explain the transformation. The summary is fragmented, and the final sentence is incomplete and irrelevant to the task. To improve, you must provide a more comprehensive overview of the process, ensuring all steps are described clearly and accurately. The failure to reach the word count and the lack of a clear, cohesive summary of the process stages result in a low score for this criterion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5

The response lacks a logical structure. While you attempt to use sequence markers like 'In the first step' and 'On the second stage', the paragraphing is poor, and the flow of information is disjointed. The transition between steps is mechanical, and the lack of proper sentence structure makes it difficult to follow the progression of the manufacturing process. The final paragraph is particularly weak, failing to provide a proper conclusion. To improve, focus on grouping related steps into coherent paragraphs and using a wider variety of cohesive devices to link ideas more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.5

The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive. You rely heavily on basic terms and struggle with technical terminology related to the process, such as 'filteration' (spelling error) and 'yam' (likely meant 'yarn'). There is little evidence of the ability to use precise language to describe industrial processes. Many phrases are awkward or grammatically incorrect, such as 'finale process to made'. To improve, you should expand your vocabulary to include process-related verbs and nouns, and pay closer attention to accurate spelling and word choice.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. There are consistent issues with verb tense consistency (e.g., 'bamboo was plants', 'plant cuts into strips'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack necessary articles and prepositions. The use of complex structures is absent, and the errors are pervasive throughout the text. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring consistent tense usage, and proofreading for common errors in articles and pluralization.
