The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 7.0)
The diagram illustrates the process of manufacturing fabric from bamboo. At a glance, it is observed that it is a lengthy process.
Overall, it is a lengthy process consisting of several stages, beginning with the planting of bamboo in spring and ending with the production of fabric. The process involves harvesting, cutting, crushing, filtering and treating the bamboo fibres before they are spin into yarn and woven into fabric.
The process starts with bamboo being planted in the spring season. It is then allowed to grow until autumn, when it is harvested. After harvesting, the bamboo is cut into small strips. These strips are subsequently crushed to produce a liquid pulp.
In the next stage, the liquid pulp is filtered in order to separate the long fibres from the liquid. The extracted fibres are then treated with amine oxide and water, which makes them softer and suitable for further processing. After this, the softened fibres are spun into yarn. Finally, the yarn is woven to produce the finished fabric.
