The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The given diagram illustrates the manufacturing process of fabric from bamboo. Overall, the process consist of nine major stages, beginning with the plantation of bamboo plants and ending with the production of weave to make different garments.

Initially, bamboo plants are planted in a field during the Spring season. After plants reached their maturity level, they underwent harvesting process, which is performed manually and cut into strips with the help of cutting machine. These strips are then crushed into pieces to make liquid pulp, which subsequently transferred for filtration. Now, the obtained liquid pulp are filtered in order to separate long fibers from liquid.

After filtration, water and amino oxide are added into these fibers to make them soft. After that, these soft fibres are spined into a roll to make yam, which then weaved to make fabric. Finally, these fabrics are used to make garments such as t-shirts and shocks.
