IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The pictures represents the way bamboo is used to make fabric .

Overview there are total nine steps to make fabric from bamboo . In the first step farmers sow the bamboo seeds in the soil which is mainly done in the spring season . Farmers then harvest the bamboo plant in the second step which take3s place in autumn season then the further process continues to make fabric.

However, after harvesting bamboo plant farmers used sharp tool to break down the bamboo plants into strips that is the third step. The next step is to make liquid pulp by crushing the bamboo strips . Filtration is the next step to remove the solid long fibers from the liquid . In the sixth step make the fibers soft by adding water and amine oxide. Fiber is prepared in the seventh step . Then the fiber is rolled to make yarn. Weaving is next step that is done to convert the fibers into the fabric . The last step is to use the fabric to make different types of clothes that includes socks and shirts .
