The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The given process illustrates how fabric is manufactured from bamboo. This process includes 9 major steps.

It can be clearly seen that firstly, bamboo is planted in the spring season. After that in the autumn season, the process of harvesting of bamboo plants is done. Thirdly, bamboo is cut into strips and then these strips is crushed to make liquid pulp.

Moving further, the filtration process takes place which separates long fibres from liquid. Later, to soften the fibres separated from liquid, water and amine oxide is added. Thereafter, the soften fibres are spun to make yam. Eventually, weave process which means to make a cloth by passing threads under and over a set of threads that is fixed to a frame loom. The fabric is ready to wear.

Overall, the manufacturing of clothes goes through the following process and if even one step is avoided the whole process gets halted.
