IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The diagram illustrates the method of manufacturing fabric from bamboo.

Overall, this process contains 9 steps including planting of bamboo to finshed product. It contains important stpes such as cutting, extracting , crushhing and other mechanical process.

To begin with, bamboos are planted during in the season of spring. Then, they are harvested in autumn . Harvested bamboos then go for the cuttig process where they exactly cut into similar strips. In the forth step they are being crushed to prouce liquid pulp.

The liquid pulp is passed through a filter where long fibers are extracted from liquid. in the next process to make fibers soft, water and a chemical called amine oxide are added into fibers. After that, the treated fibers are spun to make yarn in a circular shape and then it become weave to produce fabric. In the final stage, the weave is used to manufacture different fashion iteams such as socks and t-shirts.
