IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The diagram illustrates that there were 9 stages which required to make a fabric from a bamboo plant.

At initial stage, the plants of bamboo was planted in spring. During autumn, the plant was grown fully and it get harvested. At the next stage the bamboo was cut into small strips for further process. Then, the strips were crushed and while crushing it gives liquid pulp which then gets filtered and separates the long fibres from the pulp. The amine oxide was added along with water and made a soften fibres. The fibres was spin around and make it into yarn and by weaving the yarn it converted into a fabric and from which clothes were made.

This was the whole process to make fabric from planting bamboo plants to making of clothes. It has several step which was most important such as filtering and adding amine oxide to make a fabric.
