IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The given flow chart illustrates the information about the  manufacturing of the bamboo fibre. There are 7 steps in which bamboo fibre is made.

Overall, the bamboo plant is grown in the spring season, harvested in autumn, cut into strips followed by softened fibres then moved into a filter, crushed strips, spin and wowen into shirts

The first step is planting the bamboo plant in the spring season then it becomes a plant. After that it is to second step, this plant is harvested in the autumn season. In the third step, the plant is cutt into the strips by grinder followed by crushing strips to make liquid pulp.

In the fifth step, liquid pulp is moved into the filter. The filter's function is to filter the long fibres from liquid. In the sixth step, mix some water and a chemical which is known as amine oxide to fibers and create the softend fibers. These fibers are used to make the yarn which is  thread-like. In the second last step, there is a phenomenon in which waving occurs . In the final stage, from fibre we will make various clothes such as shirts and socks.
