IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The given diagram illustrates the process of fabric production from bamboo.

In the very first step the bamboo plants are planted in spring season, which is harvested in the autumn season when they grow up. In further step, the strips are made out of harvested bamboo plants by cutting them.

Futher more, the strips are crushed and turned into liquid pulp. Once the liquid pulp is made, it is filtered in a filter machine and long fibers are separeted from liquid.

The sixth step is the middle of the production process where water and amine oxide are added to fiber to make it soft. Moving further, the fiber then spined in order to make yam. In the next stage, a cloth is made out of yam by weaving the yam. Finally, the cloth is used to make different outfits such as t-shirts, socks and so on.

Overall, total nine steps are involved in the manufacturing process of fiber out of bamboo. which involves farming, harvesting, cutting, crushing, filtering, softening, spining and weaving and finally, fibric is truned into outfits.
