IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The diagram illustrates the process of how material is made from bamboo.

Overall, the process of manufacturing is made up of nine stages. From the planting to the bamboo plant in spring to the ready to wear cloths which is the finial stage.

The process starts with the bamboo being planted in spring to it being harvested by the farmer in autumn, it is then taken to the factory were it is cut into strips, and the strips are crushed to extant the liquid thpulp. The strips ais then filtered to separate the long fibre from the liquid.

The fibres is then soften by a process where water and amine oxide is add to smooth the fibres. At this stage the fibres is soften and spined to make yarn. The yarn is then taken to the weavers to weave the yarn and made into fabric. The fabric is then sown by the tailors to shirts, socks or shorts as the case may be.

This nine staged process illustrates the process of manufacturing the cloths we wear.
