IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The following diagram provides us information about step by step production of fabric through bamboos from spring plant bamboo to the manufacturing of clothes which we wear.

From the diagram, we can see that in the beginning, a person plants bamboo generally in spring season. Later, when it become fully grown and reaped in autumn season, farmers harvest it, cut it into strips and crush it, whether through hands or machines. Then, the main process begins. The pulp is filtered to separate long fibers from it. Gradually, it becomes soften by adding water and amine oxide chemical.

Furthermore, it goes through the process of spinning to make it like thread. Then, weave it and finally, it is sifted through the process of making clothes such shirts and socks.

Overall, this diagram illustrates the information of one by one steps involved in making fabric through bamboos.

In short, the bamboo is crushed into small pieces to make pulp and then this pulp is used in making clothes by making in fabric form.
