IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The picture below illustrates the manufacturing process of paper from bamboo.As can be seen,the process includes eight main steps -plantation,harvest,cutting,crushing,filtration,soften the fibres,spinning,weaving and final product.

The initial phase is the plantation of its raw material which is bamboo.Bamboo is planted in spring season.Then it becomes ready to harvest until autumn season.After it is harvested once,it can be transferred for cutting.The bamboo is cut into small pieces of strips.Then after,the strips are taken for crushed to make liquid pulp.Once the strips are crushed,the filtration process is done for the separation of long fibres from liquid.When filtration is completed,water and amine oxide are added to soften the fibre.The soft fibres are spin to make yarn.The yarn is ready to weave to make fabric.The yarn are weaved to make different clothes like vests,shocks etc.

The overall process shows how fabric are produced from a bamboo which we use in our daily lives.
