The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The diagram illustrates the process of making fabric from bamboo. Overall this procedure involves seven different stages starting from planting of bamboo plant till the making of a piece of a cloth from this fabric.

Firstly, the bamboo plants are planted in spring season, which is favorable season to plant this tree. After the tree is ready to harvest, the harvesting is performed in autumn. In the next step it is passed through roller cutters where it is cut into strips. These stripes are then crushed to make liquid pulp. This liquid pulp is gone through filter. After filtration long fibers are separated from filtrate. These fibers are then soften by adding water and amine oxide.

At this point fiber is sent to spinner to make yarn. Once Yarn is ready it is sent into weaving machine and finally the fabric is made after weaving. Now the fabric is set to stich in any piece of cloth from shirt to socks.
