Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Write at least 150 words.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
This picture provides the data about the process of making bambo fabric from the raw product to the main and final product.
To make bambo fabric, the plants are harvested processed and passed through a series of process to make the fabric.
First, the bambo plants are planted in the spring season and then they grow uder the proper care. and in autumn, they are harvest by the farmers, after harvesting these bambos they were cut into strips, moreover there are then crushed itno strips to make a liquid pulp, and then filtered to seprate long and dense fiber from the liquid and to make the liquid pure.
after the filteration fibers are softened by adding water and amine oxide to the mixture, then this mixture is spined in the spinner to make a yam, and then this yam is used to make a fabric, and this fabric is used to make different types of clothes and other stuff.
in conclusion, the raw bambo is used to make fabric through a series of process however it takes a lot of time to harvest and process the bambo to make thesde products

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The student attempts to summarise the linear process of manufacturing bamboo fabric, covering several key stages from planting and harvesting to softening, spinning, and final product creation. However, the overview is rather weak, and some steps in the process are described with inaccuracies or omissions compared to the provided diagram. For instance, the transition from harvesting to crushing and creating liquid pulp is somewhat confused, and the inclusion of unnecessary speculative details ("takes a lot of time") detracts from an objective summary. Furthermore, the response is just over the minimum word count, which limits the depth of reporting. Overall, the response addresses the task but remains somewhat basic and underdeveloped, aligning with a Band 5.5 descriptor.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The text is organized into paragraphs, attempting an introduction, body, and conclusion. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by poor punctuation, run-on sentences, and basic cohesive devices. For example, sentences are often joined inappropriately with commas or conjunctions like "and then" repetitively ("and then they grow uder the proper care. and in autumn, they are harvest..."). Paragraphing is minimal, with the entire main body lumped into two dense blocks that lack clear signposting of the distinct stages of the manufacturing process. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as pronoun use referring back to ambiguous nouns. These issues reflect Band 5.0 characteristics.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, with frequent misspellings and imprecise word choices throughout the text. Examples include "bambo" instead of bamboo, "uder" instead of under, "harvest" instead of harvested, "itno" instead of into, "seprate" instead of separate, "filteration" instead of filtration, "spined" instead of spun, and "yam" instead of yarn. While the student attempts some less common vocabulary items relevant to the diagram—such as "liquid pulp", "fiber", "spinner", and "fabric"—the high density of spelling mistakes and awkward collocations ("crushed itno strips to make a liquid pulp") restricts the lexical score to Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar and punctuation is weak. There are frequent errors in tense consistency, voice, and subject-verb agreement, such as "these bambos they were cut into strips, moreover there are then crushed itno strips". Punctuation is poorly handled, resulting in comma splices and fragment-like structures, particularly in the long third paragraph. While the reader can generally follow the intended meaning, the frequency of grammatical errors and lack of error-free sentences prevent the writing from achieving a higher band, placing it firmly at Band 5.0.
