The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The given image illustrates the method of preparation of bamboo cloth with the help of flow chart, where every step is organized in such a manner that makes it easier to read and understand.

The process startes planting a bamboo plant in spring, as it is perfect season for shoot to florish due to availability of optimal conditions essential for its growth. This is followed by the next step which is harvest, expected to take place in autumn season, ensuring that the growth of plant has reached to its maturity and now its ready to get harvested. Furthermore, the bamboo is then cut into strips and crushed to extract liquid pulp.

The filteration process is followed by crushing process, where the long fibers are sorted from the liguid ensuring its purity. Moreover, water and amine oxide is used to make fibers softer, so they can easily be twisted or bent. Using this property, the fibers are converted into yarn by spinning, and then a fabric is weaved out of it which is ultimatly used to make cloths.

Therefore, it can be concluded that, procedure of making a bamboo fabric consists of several steps such as, cultivation, cutting, filtering, softening and weaving, which results in formation of fine fabric to make cloths and accessories.
