Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response covers the main steps of the process diagram, moving from planting bamboo to final fabric and clothing production. However, several details are inaccurate or misread based on the visual data. For example, the text states 'farmers sowing seeds' whereas the diagram shows planting bamboo plants in spring, and mentions 'adding some water' rather than amine oxide as shown in step 6. The overview is also very weak, lacking a clear summary of the overall stages (nine steps divided into three rows). While the main features are touched upon, the lack of precision and under-developed overview place this performance within Band 5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response attempts a sequential layout using transition markers like 'First process', 'After', 'Moreover', and 'At the 8 process'. However, paragraphing is absent as the entire text is written as a single block. Cohesive devices are often mechanical and inaccurate (e.g., 'In 5 process filter this liquid...'). Referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult to follow the progression of the manufacturing stages smoothly. The overall arrangement lacks clear logical progression, corresponding to a Band 5 level.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, relying heavily on simple terms directly copied or slightly altered from the prompt (e.g., 'bamboo plants', 'fabric', 'strips', 'liquid'). There are noticeable word choice and morphological errors, such as 'hervest' instead of harvested, 'crush the strips' instead of crushing, 'lonh' instead of long, and 'thinks' instead of things. The lexical range is limited and minimally adequate for the task, causing some difficulty for the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response demonstrates a very limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple, poorly constructed sentences. There are frequent, heavy grammatical errors throughout, such as 'This diagram illustrate', 'This diagram consist on 9 process', 'This field are planting', and 'spin make from this soft fibres'. Subject-verb agreement, active/passive voice confusion, and word forms are handled incorrectly on a regular basis. These persistent errors often impede communication, fitting the Band 4 descriptors.
