The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The given pictorial representation shows that manufacturing process of fabric from bamboo in a sequential way.

Firstly, in spring season bamboo plants begin to grow and continue to do so until autumn. Then farmers start harvesting the bamboo plants and after harvesting, they cut the bamboo into strips. Strips are then transformed into liquid, after going through a crushing process. The liquid formed contain pulp. The liquid is filtered to separate long fibres from the liquid. Amine oxide and water is added into liquid to soften the fibres. Later on, soft fibres go through a spinning phase to make yarn. Yarn is weaved to make the fabric. Lastly, fabric is used to make different form of stuff like shirts, socks, linen, etc.

Overall, the production of bamboo fabric involves several stages, beginning with the growth and harvesting of bamboo and ending with the production of fabric and various textile products.
