IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The given picture illustrates the process by which fabric is produced from bamboo.

Overall, bamboo is planted in Spring and is harvested in Autumn. The whole process includes almost six steps from cutting bamboo into fine strips to weaving it to make fabric of our comfy outfits.

After harvesting, bamboo is cut into various thin strips. Then, liquid pulp is extracted from bamboo strips, which is then filtered to make long fibers. These fibres are eventually softened by adding chemcial like amine oxide and water.

Then, the softened fibre is the spinned to make yarn which serves as a building block of the fabric produced later.The long threads of yarn are orgnized in form of balls which are later weaved to make long patches od fabric. The long patches are then stitched in various forms to make useful products like our daily outfits.
