IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The given diagram gives the information about how bamboo fabric is made.

Overall, THE 9-Steps diagram can be divided into three main stages: Harvesting, cultivated bamboo plants, processing stripes to get yern , and weaving the fabric and at the end using those fabric made from bamboo is used to make varities of clothes.

The process begain when bamboo is planted during spring , followed by its harvesting by people during autum. The bamboo plants are then cut into stripes with the use of machinery , which are then crushed to make liquide pulp. Once made, the liquide strips undergoes a filtering procedure, whereby long fibers are sepreted from it.

In the sixth step, the fibers are soften by adding water and amine oxide to them. Futhermore, the substance is spun to make yarn, which is woven to produce fabric aferwards. At the final step, the fabric truns into different clothes, ranging from socks to shirts.
