The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.5)
The manufacturing process of bamboo fabris is presented visually in the form of a flowchart. It illustrates the complete step by step procedure, from raw materials to the final end product.
The production of bamboo fabric consists of 9 steps in total, which are to be followed in a sequential manner. The diagram communicates all the stages, from planting bamboo in spring to obtaining finished products.
Initial steps involve growing of bamboo plants in spring, followed by the harvesting of the plant in autumn. Next, the bamboo is cut into strips, which are then crushed to form a liquid pulp in step 4. Long fibres are separated from the pulp, with the help of a filter.
In step 6, the process of softening fibres takes place, by adding water and amine oxide. These softened fibres are then spinned to create yam, followed by weaving process which forms the bamboo fabric. In the last step, this bamboo fabris is used to manufacture clothing items like t-shirts and socks.
