The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The illustration demonstrates how fabric is made by bamboo plant.

Overall, it is 9 staged, linear process. it begins with plantation of bamboo and then how it made to fabric and finally results in making the t-shirts and socks. The most important step of making fabric is to filter long fibres from liquid.

First of all, bamboo plant grows in spring after that in autumn, harvester harvest the bamboo crops then its sent to machine where it cuts into strips and that strips sent to crushing where liquid pulp is extracted for further process.

Following that, liquid pulp is sent to filtering where filter seperate large fibres from liquid and these long fibres add with water and amine oxide which softens the fibre and, after that, these fibres spins to result in making of yarn. finally, weaving of yarn to make fabric and that fabric use to make T-shirts and socks in textile mills.
