IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The following diagram convey how bamboo is manufactured to make bamboo fabrics .

The mechanism takes 9 stages to complete . It starts by planting the raw material which is the bamboo plant followed by harvesting, cutting, softening, separating, cutting and many other stages to finally get the product as the fabric.

The process starts with planting the baby bamboo plant in the season of spring , waiting till autumn for the harvest . After being harvested , it is then cut into strips which makes the work easy for the workers. The strips then crushed to make liquid pulp and following by the fifth stage which is filtering the liquid to separate it from the fibres present and then collecting the fibres which is soften now.

When the collection is done , water and amine oxide is added to it for the chemical processing . It is then spin to make yarn balls which take to the weaving zone to make the fabrics , thus after weaving is done , the fabric is finally made makes the entire cycle complete .
