IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The given flow chart depicts the production of fabric which is made by bamboo, for making different garments.

Overall, it is apparent from the Illustration that the man-made method of making fabric from bamboo is quite straightforward, involving several important steps. The process begins with harvesting and culminates in making different clothes.

Before starting the process, in spring bamboo is planted to be grown. After that in the initial step, grown bamboo plants are harvested in autumn. In the next step, bamboo plants are cut into strips to make the process easy for the next step. After cutting plants, strips are crushed so that it can be made as liquid pulp. Once the liqid pulp is ready, long fibres is separated by filtering with a filter.

Moving on, to soften the filtered fibres, water and amine oxide are added to it. In the next step, after softening fibres it is spined to transform it into yarn. After this, yarn makes it to weave so that fabric can be made. And in the final stage it clothes like t-shirt or shock can be made.
