Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response only partially addresses the prompt. It attempts to outline the stages of the bamboo fabric manufacturing process, but several steps are missed or incorrectly described, such as confusing the harvesting and processing phases. Furthermore, the length requirement is not met, as the text contains only 123 words, falling short of the 150-word minimum. The overview is weak, and some details are under-developed or unclear.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some basic organisation with sequencing words like 'First thing first' and 'After that', but the overall progression lacks clarity due to run-on sentences and a lack of proper paragraphing. Cohesive devices are repetitive and sometimes mechanical. Referencing between the steps in the diagram is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the exact sequence of manufacturing.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The lexical range is limited and minimally adequate for the task. There are noticeable errors in word choice and word formation, such as 'demonstrate' instead of 'demonstrates', 'pulps' instead of 'pulp', and spelling errors like 'seprated' and 'manly'. These errors and awkward collocations cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent the response from achieving a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response uses a limited range of sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences are frequently faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors involving subject-verb agreement, such as 'The given diagram demonstrate', missing articles, and awkward prepositional phrases. Punctuation is also weak, with run-on clauses that lack proper boundaries, causing difficulty for the reader throughout the text.
