Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Write at least 150 words.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The diagram illustrates the process by which bamboo fabric is produced.
Overall, the process is consist of nine major steps, beginning with planting of bamboo plants and ending with final cloth. In between other necessary steps are made for making of final product.
The first step is to plant bamboo plants and the most suitable season is spring for growing a good quality of bamboo. In the second stage bamboo plants are grown enough for cutting. The harvesting and cutting of bamboo takes place in autumn, then in the next step bamboo wood is cut down into thin strip and after that strips is crush into thin strips, so that liquid pulp can be made. In next step with the help of filter long fibres are seperated from liquid and water and amine oxide is mixede with soften fibre.
In the seven stage, soften fibres are spin continuously to make yarn and afterwards with the weaving of yearn cloth fabric is made and in the final stage different clothing product such as t-shirt and socks is made and ready to sell directly into the market.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response successfully addresses all parts of the task by outlining the main stages in the bamboo fabric manufacturing process, from planting to final clothing items. An overview is provided at the beginning, noting that the process consists of nine major steps. However, some stages are somewhat under-developed or briefly glossed over, such as the transition from crushing to filtering, where details regarding the separation of long fibres and liquid pulp could have been more clearly sequenced. Overall, the information is appropriately selected and reported, fulfilling the core requirements of this level well.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear beginning, middle, and end, moving logically through the sequence of the diagram. Cohesive devices such as 'Overall', 'The first step', 'then in the next step', and 'afterwards' are used to guide the reader through the stages, though referencing and linking sometimes feel a bit mechanical or repetitive. Paragraphing is attempted to separate the introduction from the body details, but grouping the process into two larger paragraphs makes the text slightly dense, showing characteristics typical of a response transitioning into higher levels of clear logical organisation.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, successfully conveying the basic steps of the process using terms like 'harvesting', 'liquid pulp', 'fibres', and 'fabric'. However, there are noticeable lexical inaccuracies and word-form errors, such as 'is consist of' (should be 'consists of'), 'strip' instead of 'strips', 'crush' instead of 'crushed', 'seperated' (spelling error), and 'mixede' (spelling error). While these errors do not impede overall communication, they reflect a limited and somewhat insecure control over less common vocabulary and spelling at this level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical errors in verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions, such as 'planting of bamboo plants', 'strips is crush' (plural/singular agreement and tense mismatch), 'in the seven stage' (ordinal number form), and 'soften fibres are spin' (passive voice error for 'spun'). Punctuation and comma splices also occur, such as missing spaces after periods. These errors require some effort from the reader, placing the response firmly within this grammatical band.
