Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Write at least 150 words.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The provided diagram demonstrates about the manufacturing process of fabric clothes from bamboo.
Overall, this is the sequential and gradual process which contains nine several steps to transform the bamboo plant into fabric wearing materials . this process begins with the plantation of bamboo in the months of spring ,after the continuous hardwork and proper guidance of this method the liquid pulp is converted into thread spin which can be used for making weave. finally, we can made any type of fabric product through the weave.
Initially , in the month of spring the bamboo plants are planted in the appropriate field after they grow up in autumn plants are harvested to continue the process. the large bamboo plants are cut into small strips and crushed to get liquid pulb . after the crushing process, the liquid passes through filter to seperated long fibers from liquid pulp and leaved for a day after adding limited water and chemical reagent amine oxide that convert into soften fibers.
after the whole process, the soften fibers are transform into thread spin to make yarn. by the used of roll of spin weave are made which can be used as essential items for making fabric clothes. finally , the different types fabric clothes are made for different wearing product.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by outlining the main stages of the bamboo fabric manufacturing process, from planting to the final clothing items. However, the development is uneven. While some steps are adequately described, others lack clarity or contain inaccurate interpretations of the diagram, such as the confusion around the filtering and softening stages where the text mentions "leaved for a day after adding limited water and chemical reagent amine oxide that convert into soften fibers." The overview attempts to capture the main trend by noting the nine sequential steps, but the overall presentation remains somewhat under-developed in places, placing this aspect firmly in the mid-range.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response exhibits a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to follow the chronological order of the manufacturing process. Paragraphing is utilised to separate the introduction, body steps, and conclusion, though the paragraph breaks do not always align logically with the natural groupings of the process. Cohesive devices are used, but they tend to be mechanical or repetitive, such as the recurring use of 'finally' and transition phrases that do not always ensure smooth progression. Referencing is occasionally unclear, which disrupts the logical flow between sentences and makes the transitions between complex mechanical steps harder to follow than expected for higher bands.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for describing a process, incorporating terms like 'manufacturing process', 'liquid pulp', 'filter', and 'soften fibers'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice inaccuracies throughout the text, such as 'pulb' instead of 'pulp', 'seperated' instead of 'separated', 'leaved' instead of 'left', and 'wearing materials' instead of 'apparel' or 'clothing'. These errors demonstrate an attempt to use less common vocabulary with some inaccuracies, though they generally do not completely impede communication. Word formation errors, such as 'soften fibers' instead of 'softened fibres', further highlight the need for greater precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar and punctuation is inconsistent. There are several errors in article usage, punctuation (such as missing capitalisation at the beginning of sentences and spaces before commas), and verb forms, exemplified by 'the liquid passes through filter to seperated long fibers' and 'by the used of roll of spin weave are made'. While the errors do not heavily obscure the overall meaning of the process, they are frequent enough to detract from the quality of the writing. Complex structures are often faulty, and prepositional patterns inside clauses require tighter control.
