Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response attempts to describe the process of manufacturing fabric from bamboo, covering several of the key steps from planting to the final products. However, the explanation remains limited and under-developed, with the final step cut off mid-sentence. While the main stages are identified, the overall progression lacks clear summarisation of the core features and comparisons. Furthermore, the response falls slightly short of the required minimum word count of 150 words, which restricts the depth of the explanation and impacts the overall task coverage.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The text exhibits some overall organisation, dividing the introduction, body details, and conclusion into separate paragraphs, though the formatting and paragraph breaks are somewhat erratic. Cohesive devices are used to signal the sequence of the process, such as 'Heading to details', 'after this', and 'The next step', but these are occasionally repetitive or mechanical. Referencing and logical progression are sometimes unclear, and the abrupt ending prevents a fully cohesive finish, keeping the response at a moderate structural level.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for describing a process. There are noticeable errors in word choice and spelling throughout the text, such as 'facric graments', 'attirs', 'clothe', and 'seprate', which detract from the clarity of the writing. Attempts to use less common vocabulary, like 'amine oxide' or 'soften fibre', show some engagement with the prompt's technical terms, but frequent inaccuracies in word form and collocation mean the range remains restricted.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical structures used are simple, and attempts at more complex sentences are frequently faulty, such as in 'this process contain nine steps' and 'the liquid is filter in machine to seprate fibre from liquid'. There are frequent errors in verb forms, active and passive voice, article usage, and subject-verb agreement. Punctuation and sentence boundaries are also handled inconsistently, with incomplete sentences towards the end that cause difficulty for the reader and reflect a limited grammatical range.
