Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the subject and describe several stages in the correct order, including planting in spring, harvesting in autumn, cutting, crushing, filtering, softening, spinning, weaving, and making clothes. This gives the reader a basic account of the process. However, the overview is unclear: the claim that all nine steps are important does not summarise the main stages or explain the overall transformation from bamboo to finished products. Some details are also imprecise, such as saying the plants are “polluted” in spring rather than planted, and the filtering description does not clearly state that long fibres are separated from liquid. To strengthen the response, give a concise overview and describe each stage accurately and clearly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an attempted overview, and paragraphs describing the process. It also follows the broad sequence from growing bamboo to finished clothing, so the reader can identify the general progression. However, the progression is not consistently clear because several sentences are difficult to connect or interpret, particularly the overview and the final paragraph. Linking phrases such as “Furthermore,” “Moreover,” and “Afterword” are used, but some are inaccurate or repetitive and do not always show the relationship between stages. Organise the description into clear beginning, processing, and finishing stages, and use straightforward transitions such as “Next,” “After filtering,” and “Finally.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to a manufacturing process, including “liquid pulp,” “fibers,” “yarn,” and “fabric,” and you use some sequencing language. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices frequently make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “procces,” “genral,” “polutted,” and “hervest”; “polluted” also gives the wrong meaning where you intend “planted.” Phrases such as “made by yarn spin” and “lucide” are not natural or clear in this context. Aim for accurate process vocabulary and common collocations rather than ornate expressions. Proofreading spelling and choosing precise verbs such as “plant,” “filter,” “spin,” and “weave” would make the account much easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
There are attempts to combine ideas using clauses and sequencing expressions, but the range of sentence structures is limited and many sentences contain errors that obscure the process. For example, “the plant bamboo are made the fabric” has problems with word order, agreement, and the passive construction, while “if any one step are missed to all procces have the disturbed” is not grammatically complete. Verb forms and agreement are also inconsistent in “this plant are cutting” and “it is hervest.” Use simple, controlled sentences first, with accurate passive forms such as “The bamboo is harvested” and “The strips are crushed.” Then connect these accurately with time markers to show the sequence.
