Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the process as beginning with bamboo cultivation and ending with clothing, and you report several central stages, including cutting, crushing, filtering, softening, spinning and weaving. However, the overview contains a factual error: planting occurs in spring, not autumn; autumn is when the bamboo is harvested. The final clothing stage is mentioned, but the sequence could be described more completely and precisely, especially by explaining that the fibres are spun into yarn before the fabric is woven. The response is also below the required 150 words, which limits the detail available to summarise the diagram. Add a fuller overview and clarify the stages and their order to address the task more completely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response follows the general order of the process, and words such as “Furthermore,” “Finally” and “At last” help signal movement through the stages. This gives the reader a basic sense of progression. However, the ideas are presented in one block rather than in clearly organised paragraphs, and some links are awkward or repetitive. For example, “Finally, after completing all the process up to soften process” makes the transition to spinning difficult to follow. The overview is also not clearly separated from the stage-by-stage description. Use a short overview paragraph followed by a logically grouped account of the stages, and choose precise transitions that show sequence without repeating the same function.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “harvest,” “strips,” “filtration,” “fibers” and “soften,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the description unclear. “Yam” appears to be a misspelling of “yarn,” while “slurry (thick liquid)” and “madeup” are not natural choices in this context. “Wearable clothes manufactured” is understandable but less precise than describing the final products as clothing. Aim to use accurate process terms and natural collocations, such as “the pulp is filtered” and “the fibres are spun into yarn.” Check spelling carefully, especially for technical vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and linked sentences, but control is inconsistent, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to read. For example, “there is nine stage” has an agreement error, while “bamboo plant is planting” uses an incorrect verb form. The sentence beginning “Moreover, harvested bamboo cut into strips” also lacks a clear passive construction, and “water and amine oxide is added” has a subject–verb agreement problem. Punctuation and spacing are inconsistent, particularly around commas and sentence openings. Practise describing processes with the passive voice: “Bamboo is planted,” “the strips are crushed,” and “water and amine oxide are added.” Short, carefully checked sentences will help improve accuracy before you attempt longer structures.
