Student answer (Band 6.0)
The given process chart illusrates the information regarding the how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.
Overall, it is clear that it process consists 9 steps. Starting with planting and harvesting the bamboo, cut into strips and woven it to make fabric.
To start with, the bamboo plant planting in spring, and they harvest in autumn when the reach to maturity. After that, the bambo cut into strips by the blade, strips are crushed to make liquid pul. Then the liquid through into a filter where the long fibres separate from liquid, add water and amine oxide in it to make soften fibres.
Moving on, soften fibres are spin by workers or machine to make yam. Then the yam is weave to make fabric from it. Now it ready to make clothes from it, by some machines or workers hand. They desing into different desings such as t-shirts, socks, and other certain clothes.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the process as having nine stages and describe its broad progression from planting and harvesting bamboo to producing fabric and clothing. Several important details are accurately included, such as the seasonal timing, crushing strips into pulp, filtering fibres, and adding water and amine oxide. However, the overview is incomplete: it mentions planting, harvesting, cutting and weaving, but does not clearly summarise the key transformation from bamboo into yarn and then fabric. Some later details are unclear or unsupported, particularly the claim that workers or machines spin the fibres and that machines or workers make the clothes; the diagram shows the clothing outcome but does not specify who or what makes it. A clearer overview and more precise reporting of the final stages would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction and overview are followed by two paragraphs that move through the stages in sequence. Linking phrases such as “To start with,” “After that,” and “Moving on” help the reader follow the process, and the shift to the later stages is logical. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some of the stronger progression associated with the next level. However, cohesion is not always smooth: the overview compresses several stages into a fragment-like sequence, and “Then the yam is weave” repeats the previous idea without adding much. Use clearer links between each transformation and refer consistently to the material at each stage, for example, “the resulting yarn” and “the finished fabric.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant process vocabulary, including “harvesting,” “strips,” “liquid,” “filter,” “fibres,” and “fabric,” so the reader can understand the main subject and many stages. There are also attempts at more specific terms, such as “amine oxide.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling, or word-form errors reduce precision: “yam” is used for “yarn,” “pul” for “pulp,” and “desing” for “design.” Phrases such as “the liquid through into a filter” and “make soften fibres” are also not natural descriptions. Aim to use accurate process collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make the account more precise without requiring unnecessarily advanced vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the sequence is generally understandable. However, control of sentence structure and verb forms is inconsistent, which fits this level. Examples include “it process consists 9 steps,” where the article and verb pattern are missing, and “the bamboo plant planting in spring,” which needs a passive construction such as “bamboo is planted in spring.” In “when the reach to maturity,” the subject and verb form are unclear; “when it reaches maturity” would be grammatical. Passive forms are especially useful for describing this process, but forms such as “are spin” and “is weave” need to be “are spun” and “is woven.” Practise accurate passive clauses and complete sentences before adding more complex structures.
