Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify the general subject and attempt to describe the process, including planting, cutting, crushing, filtering, softening, spinning and weaving. However, the account is only minimally successful because the sequence is repeatedly confused: you say the fibres are separated before the strips are crushed, and the stages are not clearly linked to the finished clothing shown at the end. The overview, “there was a nine step,” does not clearly summarise the process from cultivation to finished products. Several descriptions are also too unclear to confirm what happens at each stage. The response is 142 words, so it does not meet the required minimum of 150. To improve, give a concise, accurate overview and report each stage in the diagram’s order, including the final clothing products.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response into an opening/overview and two detail paragraphs, and words such as “Overall,” “in detail,” and “next” show an effort to guide the reader. However, the progression is difficult to follow because stages are repeated or placed out of order, and several ideas run together in long, unclear sentences. For example, “they separate long fibres from liquid at they followed crush strips” makes the relationship between filtering and crushing hard to understand. The final paragraph also repeats earlier information rather than clearly completing the sequence. Use one paragraph for a brief overview and another for the stages in order, with clear links such as “After this,” “The resulting pulp is then filtered,” and “Finally.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “strips,” “fibres,” “liquid,” “yarn,” and “fabric,” which helps identify the topic. However, the range is limited and several phrases are inaccurate or repetitive, making parts of the process difficult to interpret. Expressions such as “convert into soften fibres,” “spin convert into make fabric,” and “bamboo is made” do not describe the stages naturally. There are also spelling and word-form problems, including “daigram” and “their was.” Aim for precise process verbs and natural collocations, such as “crush the strips into pulp,” “filter the liquid,” and “spin the fibres into yarn.” This would make the description clearer without requiring unusually advanced vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
The response attempts to connect ideas with clauses, but sentence structures are very limited and frequent grammatical errors sometimes distort meaning. For example, “Overall, it can be clearly their was a nine step to made a bamboo” has problems with sentence construction, verb form, and agreement. In “the first one was plant bamboo,” the verb form is incorrect, while “they followed cut into strips” lacks a clear grammatical structure. Tense and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, and several clauses are joined without effective punctuation. Practise writing short, accurate passive sentences suited to a process, such as “The bamboo is harvested in autumn” and “The strips are crushed to produce pulp.” Then combine these carefully using time clauses.
