Student answer (Band 5.0)

The given picture illustrates the complete manufacturing processof fabric from bamboo.

Overall, total nine steps has been considering into three main parts of manufacturing. Firstly, strat from field and chemical process is second part as well as farbrication last procedure of final fabrication.

In spring season, the plantation of bamboo in the fields. After that, the crops is harvest in autumn season, while it coverted into the strips after cutting of the crops. Moreover, the filtered fibers is crush into small pieces. Consequently, the filteration process of fibers is an essential way for the separation of water. Furthermore, that solution of amine oxide and water is need to help out the fibers become softat the end of chemical process which used to convert into pulp fluid. The coversion of soft fibers into string ball. The penultimate process is weave to production of fabric at least the clothes has been completed with the alterations of fabirc.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the process as having nine steps and mention the seasonal stages, bamboo cutting, fibre treatment, yarn, weaving and finished clothes, so the response is relevant and includes several key features. However, the overview is unclear: “three main parts” is not explained accurately, and the stages are not grouped in a way that gives the reader a clear picture of the process. Some details are misreported or confused. The diagram shows strips being crushed to make liquid pulp before filtering; your account says the fibres are filtered and then crushed. It also shows water and amine oxide being added to soften the fibres, rather than describing this as a solution that converts them into pulp. Report the stages in order and distinguish the filtering, softening and final clothing steps more precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is an attempt to organise the response with an opening, an overview and a sequence of process details. Connectors such as “After that,” “Moreover,” and “Furthermore” help signal progression. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow because the overview is vague and the body does not consistently preserve the diagram’s order: crushing is placed after filtering, and the final stages are compressed into unclear phrases. Some linking expressions also imply relationships that are not clear, such as “Consequently” before the filtering stage. Use one paragraph for the overview and another for the stages, then guide the reader through the process in sequence with simple, accurate links such as “Next” and “After filtering.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “harvest,” “strips,” “fibers,” “amine oxide,” “weave” and “fabric,” which helps identify the main stages. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the process hard to understand. For example, “plantation of bamboo” and “crops is harvest” are not natural descriptions here, while “string ball” is less precise than the diagram’s yarn. There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, including “farbrication,” “filteration,” “coversion” and “fabirc.” Choose standard process vocabulary and check spelling carefully; accurate terms such as “bamboo is planted,” “the fibres are softened,” and “yarn is produced” would make the account clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both simple and more complex sentences, including a time clause with “while” and sequencing clauses beginning “After that” and “Furthermore.” However, grammatical control is weak, and errors frequently make relationships between stages unclear. Examples include “total nine steps has been considering,” “the crops is harvest,” and “the plantation of bamboo in the fields,” where the verb is missing or incorrectly formed and subject–verb agreement is faulty. Passive forms are especially important for describing this process, but they are not controlled consistently. Practise complete subject–verb sentences and accurate passive constructions, for example, “The bamboo is harvested in autumn” and “The strips are crushed to produce pulp.” This will also help you express the sequence without fragments.
