Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The provided diagram illustrares the information of manufacturing of cloths from bamboo.

Overall, this process take place in seven steps. Including harvesting, crushing, filering, and making of yarn. Moreover, growing and harvesting of bamboo take more time counsuming than other process.

First of all selecting of spacific type of bamboo in the season of spring. Furthermore, after the three months harvesting is start in autumn. These strips are cut into the pices and leafs are separated from the branches. Additionally, strips are cruch and use obtain the liquid pulp. In the fiveth step by using the filterlarg fiber get out from the pulp. Afterward soften of fiber is done by the chemical named as amine oxide and water. During this spin it is ready to make yarn and weave is done by the hand. Finally, in the ninth step fabric is ready to make items such as shurts and socks.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the process as bamboo being turned into fabric and include several key stages, from planting and harvesting through to yarn, weaving and finished clothing. However, the overview says there are “seven steps,” whereas the diagram shows nine, and it does not clearly summarise the full sequence. Some details are inaccurate or unsupported: the diagram does not specify a three-month interval, leaf removal, or hand weaving. The description also blurs the order around crushing, filtering and softening, although these are important stages. To strengthen the response, give an accurate overview of the nine-stage process and report each stage in sequence, distinguishing what the diagram shows from assumptions.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, an overview and a chronological account using signals such as “First of all,” “Afterward” and “Finally.” This helps the reader follow the general movement from growing bamboo to finished products. However, progression is sometimes disrupted by unclear or incomplete links. For example, “During this spin it is ready to make yarn and weave is done by the hand” makes the relationship between softening, spinning and weaving difficult to follow. The overview also lists only some stages and gives an incorrect total, weakening the organisation of the whole account. Use one clear sentence per stage, with accurate sequencing and consistent references to the material being processed.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “harvesting,” “liquid pulp,” “filter,” “fibre,” “yarn” and “weave,” which helps communicate the topic. However, the range and control are limited, and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the description difficult to understand: “illustrares,” “filering,” “cruch,” “larg fiber” and “shurts.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “information of manufacturing of cloths” and “more time counsuming.” Aim for precise process collocations, for example “the manufacture of bamboo fabric,” “the fibres are filtered,” and “the process is more time-consuming.” Check spelling carefully and avoid using “cloths” when you mean “clothing” or “fabric.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex forms, including sequencing clauses such as “after the three months harvesting is start in autumn.” However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction are frequent and sometimes make the process hard to follow. Examples include “this process take place,” “harvesting is start,” and “strips are cruch and use obtain the liquid pulp.” The overview fragment “Including harvesting, crushing, filering, and making of yarn” is not a complete sentence. Practise forming clear passive sentences for process descriptions, such as “The strips are crushed to produce liquid pulp” and “The fibres are softened with water and amine oxide.” Check subject–verb agreement and use complete sentences throughout.
