Student answer (Band 5.5)
The diagram illustrates how fabrics are produced from bamboo. overall, it took 9 stages to achieve tge result. The first stage was plant bamboo plants which formed the spring. moving on to the second stage There was a harvest that produces autumn. The next process was the harvest that were cut into strips, it was showed that in the fourth stage this strip was crush to make liquid pulp.
In the manufacturing process, the 5th stage was filteration which means to seperate long fibres from the liquid. Next in line we have soften fibres this step was done by adding water ana amine oxide . moving further to the 7th process there was a spin to make yarn while the next stage they weaved to create a fabrics. In the final step which was the 9th step they created two pairs of socks and a top. From the whole process we have seen how plant bamboo is an important material for creating yarns used for fabrics production.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You cover the process from planting through to the finished products, and include several relevant details, such as planting in spring, harvesting in autumn, filtering the fibres, and adding water and amine oxide. However, the overview is limited to saying there are nine stages; it would be clearer to summarise the main transformation from bamboo plants into fabric and clothing. Some stages are also misreported or unclear: the second stage is harvesting, not a harvest that “produces autumn,” and the third stage cuts bamboo into strips rather than cutting the harvest. The final image shows a T-shirt and socks, not two pairs of socks. A more accurate, concise account of each stage and a stronger overview would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response follows the process in sequence and uses two paragraphs to separate the early stages from later manufacturing, so the reader can generally follow the account. Linking phrases such as “moving on,” “next in line,” and “in the final step” help signal progression. However, some transitions are mechanical, and the first paragraph’s “The next process was the harvest” repeats and confuses the previous stage rather than clearly introducing cutting. The overview is also embedded in the opening instead of being clearly distinguished from the stage-by-stage description. Organise the response into a brief introduction and overview followed by logically grouped process stages, and use precise references to avoid repetition.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant process vocabulary, including “harvest,” “strips,” “liquid pulp,” “fibres,” “yarn,” and “weaved,” which helps communicate the stages. However, the range and control are limited by inaccurate word forms, spelling, and collocations. Examples include “tge,” “seperate,” and “filteration”; “plant bamboo plants” is repetitive, while “a spin” and “a fabrics” are unnatural choices. “Created” is also less precise than a verb describing the final stage of producing clothing. Aim for accurate process terms and natural collocations, and check spelling and singular/plural forms. This will make the description clearer and more precise without requiring unnecessarily advanced vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “which” and “while,” and the overall sequence is usually understandable. However, errors occur frequently in sentence construction and grammatical forms. For example, “The first stage was plant bamboo plants” does not use a suitable verb form, and “the harvest that were cut into strips” has faulty agreement and an unclear reference. “This strip was crush” also needs a correctly formed passive verb, while “they weaved to create a fabrics” has problems with the subject, verb form, and article/plural agreement. Capitalisation after full stops is inconsistent, too. Practise accurate passive constructions for process descriptions, such as “the strips are crushed,” and check agreement and articles in each sentence.
