Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Write at least 150 words.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
The given diagram depicts the information about the process of how bamboo fabric is made.
Overall, it can be clearly seen that there are several stages in this process, and all stages are very important so that this process can be completed.
In the first stage of this process the bamboo plant is planted in spring season, after which it is harvested in autumn. when the peocess of harvest is completed, bamboo is cut in the strips with cutter machine. On the sixth step, the process of adding water and amine oxide is began to turn bamboo strips into soft fiber. Additionally, The another process is filter to separate long fibers from liquid. Before making yam the strips crushed to make liquid pilp. When the process of making clothes is almost done, process of weave is started to make fabric and on the final step fiber clothes are ready .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the process as a sequence and correctly report the seasonal planting and harvesting, cutting, filtering, softening, weaving, and finished clothing. However, the account is only partially complete: the stages are not presented in their correct order, and the overview merely says that there are “several stages” rather than summarising the transformation from bamboo plants into clothing. For example, you describe softening before crushing and filtering, and say “Before making yam the strips crushed” without clearly explaining that crushing produces liquid pulp. Spinning the fibres into yarn is also not accurately reported. To strengthen the response, give a concise overview of the full progression and describe each stage in sequence, including the final spinning and clothing steps.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic paragraph structure, with an introduction, an overview, and a process description, and some sequencing language such as “In the first stage” and “after which” helps the reader follow parts of the account. However, the overall progression is unclear because later stages are reported out of order: softening is placed before filtering and crushing, while weaving and clothing are introduced without a clear transition from yarn. Linking phrases such as “Additionally” and “Before” do not consistently clarify the relationships between stages. Organise the body in the diagram’s sequence and use clear references such as “Next,” “After filtering,” and “Finally” to make the process easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “harvested,” “strips,” “separate,” “fibers,” and “fabric,” so the topic is generally understandable. There are also attempts at more specific terms, such as “amine oxide” and “liquid pulp.” However, inaccurate or misspelled choices sometimes make the meaning difficult to interpret: “yam” appears to mean yarn, “pilp” should be pulp, and “fiber clothes” is not a natural description of the finished clothing. Phrases such as “cutter machine” and “the process of weave” are also imprecise. Build accuracy by checking spelling and using standard process collocations, for example, “cut into strips,” “spin the fibres into yarn,” and “weave the yarn into fabric.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including the sequence “The bamboo plant is planted in spring season, after which it is harvested in autumn.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, articles, and sentence construction. Examples include “the process … is began,” “the strips crushed,” and “process of weave is started,” where the verb patterns are incomplete or incorrect. There are also problems with sentence boundaries and capitalisation, as in “autumn. when” and “Additionally, The.” These errors sometimes make the process relationships harder to understand. Practise consistent passive forms for describing stages, such as “the strips are crushed” and “the fibres are softened,” and check articles and punctuation when joining steps.
