Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover the main stages from planting and autumn harvesting through processing, spinning and weaving, and you identify the final products as clothing. The overview also correctly notes that the process has nine stages and begins in spring. However, some stages are compressed or unclear: “different staps process cuting, filter spin” does not give a clear summary of the middle sequence, and the description of filtering would be more accurate if it stated that long fibres are separated from the liquid. You also say the softened material is “fabric” before it is spun; at that point it is fibre, while fabric is produced by weaving. Clarifying these details and giving a more complete overview of the transformation would strengthen the report.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction and overview are followed by descriptions of the early and later stages. Sequencing phrases such as “First of all,” “After that,” and “At the end” help the reader follow the process. However, the overview’s list—“cuting, filter spin”—is difficult to interpret, and the final paragraph contains several stages in one long sequence without clear sentence boundaries. The transition “At the nest” is also unclear, while “After the” and “At the end” are repeated or awkwardly used. Grouping the stages more clearly and using accurate, varied links between them would make the progression smoother and references easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant process vocabulary, including “harvested,” “strips,” “liquid pulp,” “filter,” “fibres,” “yarn,” and “weave,” which allows the reader to recognise most stages. However, spelling errors are noticeable, including “banboo,” “pilp,” “seprated,” “filbres,” and “produts,” and some word choices are inaccurate: the material is softened fibres rather than “the fabric” before spinning. Phrases such as “in form liquid” and “different types of products” are also imprecise or unnatural. Aim for accurate spelling and more exact process terms, for example, “separate long fibres from the liquid” and “finished garments.” This would improve precision without requiring unnecessarily complex vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex forms, including the overview sentence beginning “Overall” and the sequence “After the water and amine oxide are added…”. The process is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “The diagram show” needs subject–verb agreement, and “bamboo are planted” should be “bamboo is planted.” Passive forms are often incomplete or inconsistent: “the bamboo cut into” needs “is cut,” while “the yarn is weave” needs “is woven.” There are also sentence-boundary and punctuation problems, particularly where “liquid” is followed by “After” without a full stop. Check agreement, articles and passive verb forms, and divide long sequences into complete sentences.
