Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the process as fabric production from bamboo and include its seasonal start and clothing-related end, while reporting most of the main stages in broadly correct order. However, the overview is unclear and repetitive: “It is the process of producing various clothes from the bamboo plants” largely repeats the introduction rather than summarising the process’s main phases. The final stage is also not clearly described; the diagram shows finished clothing items, but “which Eu. in diarious clothes” is difficult to interpret. Some steps are compressed or incomplete, and the response is 10 words below the required minimum. To strengthen the report, give a clear overview of the progression from cultivation to finished garments and describe each stage accurately and fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic sequence, and the paragraph beginning “firstly” follows the early stages before moving to processing and manufacture. This gives the reader some sense of the order. However, paragraphing and progression are not consistently controlled: the overview is mixed with repeated introductory information, and the later stages are crowded into one paragraph. Linking expressions such as “After that,” “subsequently,” “further,” and “following” are used mechanically, sometimes without forming complete sentences. For example, “following. spinning to make yarn” interrupts the flow. Organise the report into a concise introduction and overview followed by clearly grouped stages, and connect them with accurate, varied transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant process vocabulary, including “harvest,” “strips,” “liquid pulp,” “filter,” “fibres,” “yarn,” and “weave,” which helps convey the main production stages. There is some range, but word choice, spelling, and collocation are inconsistent and occasionally make meaning unclear. Examples include “sepesate” for “separate,” “diarious” where “various” may be intended, and “which Eu.”, which does not communicate a clear idea. “Planting bamboo trees” is understandable, though “planting bamboo” is more precise for this diagram. Aim for accurate process terms and check spelling; use “finished garments” or “clothing items” to describe the final products clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts both simple statements and sequencing structures, but control of sentence formation is weak. Several fragments interrupt the report, including “begins with. planting bamboo plants in spring season” and “After that cut the bamboo into strips.” The opening overview also contains agreement and clause problems in “this is a manmade process which contain a different steps,” while punctuation creates further breaks, as in “following. spinning to make yarn.” These errors make some relationships between stages difficult to follow. Practise writing complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use consistent present simple forms for process descriptions, such as “The strips are crushed to produce liquid pulp.” Check articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries during revision.
