Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Write at least 150 words.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
The Process diagram below shows a mathod of fabrication of yarn.
Overall, the process starts from planting bamboo plants. It processed through a proper segment to become a cloth. The whole method is defined in the given map.
At the begining, plant bammbo have put into the soil. harvest in the season of autumn. After that material went through the cutting machine. It cuts it into ncrush strips to make liquid pulp. Which then filter long fibres from liquid. Water and amine oxide saoften the fibres.
Until then spinning machine runs rapidly and fibre have put in the spinner to make yarn. after making of a ball shaped spinner full of thread is used to prepare a proper fabric. Then its gone through a proper machines to becoma a wearing cloth. The whole process comprises of 9 different steps which helps to manufacture a refine wearing cloth.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the process as beginning with bamboo planting and ending with fabric or clothing, and you mention several relevant stages, including harvesting, cutting, filtering, softening, spinning and weaving. However, the account is only partial: the crushing stage is unclear, and the final clothing stage is described vaguely as passing through “proper machines.” The overview also says the material becomes “a cloth” without clearly summarising the full progression from plant to finished garments. The diagram specifies planting in spring, which you omit, and the response is three words below the required minimum. To improve, give a concise overview of the complete sequence and describe each stage accurately, including the final clothing items.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic overall structure: an opening, an overview, and a chronological account of the stages. Sequencing phrases such as “At the beginning,” “After that,” and “Then” help the reader follow the process. However, progression is sometimes disrupted by unclear links and sentence fragments, particularly “Which then filter long fibres from liquid.” The phrase “Until then” does not clearly connect the fibre-softening stage to spinning, and “The whole method is defined in the given map” repeats the introduction rather than advancing the description. Use clear paragraphing and connect each stage directly to the next; avoid isolated fragments and repetitive concluding statements.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “harvest,” “liquid pulp,” “fibres,” “spin,” and “fabric,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spelling errors make the description less precise: “mathod,” “begining,” “bammbo,” “saoften,” and “becoma.” Phrases such as “proper segment,” “proper machines,” and “refine wearing cloth” are vague or unnatural for describing a manufacturing process. Choose specific terms from the diagram, such as “stages,” “machinery,” and “finished garments,” and check spelling carefully. More accurate collocations would make the process easier to understand without requiring more elaborate vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, but control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make relationships between stages difficult to follow. For example, “plant bammbo have put into the soil” lacks a clear passive construction, while “harvest in the season of autumn” has no correctly formed subject and verb. The fragment “Which then filter long fibres from liquid” also needs to be joined to the preceding sentence, with an appropriate verb form. Tense and agreement are unreliable in “fibre have put in the spinner,” and sentence-initial “after” is not capitalised. Practise accurate passive forms for process descriptions, such as “the bamboo is planted” and “the fibres are softened,” and punctuate complete sentences consistently.
