Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Write at least 150 words.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The given process demostrates the process of fabric making out of bamboo.
Overall, this process carried out in nine crucial stages, where this starts with cultivation and get ended up manufacturing a cloths made up of bamboo.
To begin with, bamboo plantation were made in the springs season, which is the first step in of fabric manufacture. Moving further, in the Autumn season grown bamboo get harvested and sent for the further process. At third stage, trunks of bamboo were cutted down into strips, later this striped bamboo were undergo from crushing process to extract the liquid pulp. In next stage, the liquid solution get filtered out to seperate out long fibres. Subsequently, the fibres under go in a chemical process where amine oxide and water get added in it to soften the fibres. After this, spinning process were carried out where yarn created using the softend fibres. Later, this threds weaved together to form fabric, and finally cloths were manufactured by using this fabric.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover the full sequence from planting bamboo in spring to producing clothing, and the overview correctly identifies nine stages and the transformation from cultivation to finished fabric products. Several details are also accurately reported, including autumn harvesting, crushing the strips into pulp, filtering out long fibres, and adding water and amine oxide to soften them. However, the overview is somewhat unclear, and some stages are described less precisely: “trunks ... were cutted down” does not clearly convey cutting the bamboo into strips, while the final step is clothing items rather than simply “cloths.” Make the overview more direct and distinguish clearly between making fabric and using it to produce garments.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall progression and is arranged in a sensible sequence, with an overview followed by a stage-by-stage account. Linking expressions such as “To begin with,” “Moving further,” “Subsequently,” and “finally” help the reader follow the process, and the description generally tracks the diagram’s changing direction without confusion. This already gives the account a coherent structure. However, the repeated transition-led sentences make the cohesion somewhat mechanical, and phrases such as “At third stage” and “In next stage” are not smoothly integrated. Use a wider range of links, including references to the materials or stages (“the resulting pulp,” “these fibres”), and group related steps to create more natural progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant process vocabulary, including “cultivation,” “harvested,” “liquid pulp,” “long fibres,” “soften,” “spinning,” and “weaved,” so the reader can understand the main transformations. There is also some useful variation in how the stages are introduced. However, several word-choice, form, and spelling problems reduce precision: “demostrates,” “cutted,” “seperate,” “softend,” and “threds” are inaccurate, while “cloths” is not the right term for the finished clothing shown. Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “undergo from crushing process” and “cloths were manufactured.” Choose standard process collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully to make the description more precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “where amine oxide and water get added in it to soften the fibres” and sequencing clauses that connect several stages. The overall meaning remains understandable. However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction are persistent enough to limit accuracy. Examples include “this process carried out,” “bamboo plantation were made,” “bamboo get harvested,” and “fibres under go.” The opening overview also has an unclear construction: “where this starts with cultivation and get ended up manufacturing.” Use consistent passive forms for a process description—for example, “is planted,” “is harvested,” and “is filtered”—and check subject–verb agreement and article use in each sentence.
