Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Write at least 150 words.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The given diagram illustrates the process of making fabric from bamboo.
Overall the procedure consist of 9 phases to make a bamboo fabric, beginning with plant bamboo tree and ending with making fabric clothes product.
Initially at the first stage,to begin with spring season where the farmer plant bamboo, subsequently following this in the next stage in autumn season farmer harvest bamboo and is transformed into strips the farmer fed the bamboo in machineary and cut the bamboo into strips following this they crush the strip to make a liquid pulp once a pulp made they processed pulp into filter to seprate long fibres from liquid.after this phase they get a fibres now to make it soften they will add water and amine oxide chemical which make it soften.
the next and final phase include making ,weaving and dispactching so after getting a soften fabric in large amount then workers spin the fabric in machine which generate a yam finally the yam is generated in next step the workers start weaving to make a fabric and then the process concludes with manufacture of the finished fabric products

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the diagram as a process and give a broad overview that it has nine stages, starting with planting and ending with finished clothing. You also report several key steps accurately, including harvesting in autumn, crushing the strips into pulp, filtering fibres, adding water and amine oxide, spinning yarn, and weaving fabric. However, the overview is not fully precise: the final stage is the production of clothing items, not simply “making fabric clothes product,” and the account says workers dispatch products even though dispatch is not shown. Some stages are also unclear or misrepresented, particularly the transition from harvesting to cutting and the description of softened fibres as “soften fabric.” A clearer, more complete account of the sequence would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and a chronological description of the process. Sequencing expressions such as “Initially,” “subsequently,” “after this phase,” and “finally” help the reader follow the stages. However, the main process description is placed in two very long sentences, with several steps joined together, so the progression becomes difficult to track. Some links are also mechanical or unclear, such as “once a pulp made they processed pulp into filter,” and “the next and final phase” introduces several stages rather than one. Use separate sentences or paragraphs for the growing and processing stages, and make each transition clearly connect one step to the next.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant process vocabulary, including “harvest,” “strips,” “liquid pulp,” “fibres,” “spin,” and “weaving,” which allows the main stages to be recognised. There are also attempts at more specific terms, such as “amine oxide.” However, inaccurate word choice and spelling reduce precision: “yam” is used for “yarn,” “dispatching” adds an unsupported action, and “soften fabric” does not accurately describe softening fibres. Phrases such as “making fabric clothes product” and “in large amount” are also unnatural. Aim for accurate process collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, describe workers as spinning fibres into yarn and weaving the yarn into fabric.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the overall meaning can generally be followed. However, complex sentences are often poorly controlled, especially where several stages are joined with “and,” “after,” or “following this.” There are frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries: “the procedure consist” should be “the procedure consists,” while “the farmer plant” needs “plants.” The opening of the process description, “to begin with spring season where the farmer plant bamboo,” is not a complete, well-formed clause. Punctuation and spacing are also inconsistent, making long sentences harder to read. Build accuracy by using one clear sentence per stage and checking subject–verb agreement and articles.
