Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the diagram as a process for making bamboo fabric and mention several relevant stages, including planting, harvesting, crushing, filtering, softening, spinning and weaving. However, the account is only partial and some relationships between stages are unclear: for example, “after the 6 parts finally the fabric” does not accurately explain that spinning produces yarn, which is then woven into fabric, followed by finished clothing. The overview also gives little sense of the process’s overall progression from growing bamboo to clothing. The response is 29 words below the required minimum, which limits the detail available. To improve, give a clear overview and describe each stage in sequence, including the final clothing products shown.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, an overview and two paragraphs describing stages. It also attempts sequencing with phrases such as “The first part,” “the second,” and “after filtering,” so the reader can recognise that the process has an order. However, progression is not consistently clear. The long sentence beginning “The first part of fabric made…” joins many stages without clear sentence boundaries, and “after the 6 parts” makes the transition to the final stages difficult to follow. Some links are repetitive or imprecise, such as repeated uses of “after.” Use separate sentences or a clearly ordered sequence, and connect each stage explicitly to the next.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “harvest,” “liquid pulp,” “fibres,” “yarn” and “weave,” which helps communicate the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the description less clear, such as “clouths,” “orignal form” and “desion.” Phrases such as “fabric making in 9 parts” and “the fabric in original form” are also imprecise for describing a manufacturing process. Aim to use accurate process terms consistently, for example, “finished garments” for the clothing at the end and “soften the fibres” for the treatment stage. Proofreading spelling and choosing more precise collocations would make the account easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts both simple statements and longer sentences, but grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make the process difficult to follow. For example, “The figure illustrate” has subject–verb disagreement, while “The givan diagram show” also lacks agreement and contains an unclear article pattern. The opening phrase “The first part of fabric made is spring of bamboo plants” has an incomplete structure, and the long sentence describing cutting, crushing and filtering lacks clear punctuation and grammatical links. Capitalisation after commas and full stops is also inconsistent. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine stages with controlled clauses, such as “After the strips are crushed, the pulp is filtered.”
