Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the broad process, from planting and harvesting bamboo to producing fabric and clothing, and include several relevant stages such as cutting, crushing, filtering, softening, spinning and weaving. However, the account is incomplete and some relationships between stages are unclear: for example, “which changed in yarn” does not clearly explain that softened fibres are spun into yarn. There is no concise overview of the process’s main features, and the final comment that it is “very hardworking” and takes time is not supported by the diagram. The response also falls 20 words short of the required minimum, limiting the detail available. To improve, give a clear overview and describe each stage accurately and sufficiently.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is a basic sense of sequence, supported by “Firstly,” “Secoundly,” “then” and “at the end,” so the reader can recognise that you are describing a process. However, the response is presented as one paragraph, and the progression is not consistently clear. Some links join stages without explaining their relationship, as in “After cuting bamboo and converting in crush strips,” while “however” does not express a contrast between the steps that follow it. The ending also repeats that the process is complete rather than providing a useful summary. Organise the response into an introduction, an overview and logically grouped stages, and use simple, accurate sequencing phrases to guide the reader.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some task-related vocabulary, including “harvest,” “liquid pulp,” “fibers,” “yarn” and “weave,” which helps convey the general subject. However, the range is basic and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to understand, such as “sprips,” “Softe fibres,” “yam” and “waring things.” Some expressions are also unnatural, including “fabric throw bamboo” and “the changes liquid into separate form.” Aim for accurate process vocabulary and natural collocations, such as “fabric made from bamboo,” “separate the fibres from the liquid,” and “turn the yarn into fabric.” Proofreading spelling and choosing precise verbs would make the description clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts to connect stages in longer sentences, but grammatical control is limited and errors frequently obscure the intended meaning. For example, “This process diagram illsurtrats the of fabric throw bamboo” lacks a clear sentence structure, while “After cuting bamboo and converting in crush strips” has an incomplete construction. Verb forms and sentence boundaries are also problematic in “Then makes weave fabric using the yam.” Most clauses rely on simple patterns, and the longer sentences are not reliably controlled. Practise writing complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, for example, “The bamboo is cut into strips and crushed to produce liquid pulp.” Check articles, verb forms and punctuation when editing.
