Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify the general subject and give a rough sequence from planting and harvesting to processing and making yarn and clothing. However, the response only minimally covers the diagram: several key stages are omitted or unclear, including crushing the strips into pulp, filtering out long fibres, and weaving fabric. The claim that the bamboo is “push and filter” does not accurately describe these steps, and “cap of l as lather” is not a clear or supported final detail. There is no concise overview of the process as a whole. The response is also 45 words below the required minimum, which leaves too little space to report the main features adequately. To improve, describe all major stages accurately and add an overview of the process from growing bamboo to finished garments.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic chronological order, and words such as “Then” help the reader follow the broad movement from planting to manufacturing. This gives it some organisation. However, the progression is not consistently clear because several stages are compressed or linked imprecisely: “Then it breaks into many pieces” does not clearly identify what happens, and “Then it go to the factory” introduces a location that the diagram does not show. Repeated use of “Then” also makes the linking mechanical, while the response is presented as one block without a clear overview or grouping of stages. Use a short introduction and overview, then organise the process into logical phases and use precise links such as “After harvesting” and “Once the fibres have been softened.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “plant,” “harvest,” “filter,” “yarns,” and “factory,” so the reader can recognise the general topic. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms make the process difficult to understand. For example, “bamboo waster” does not clearly name the material being processed, “push” is not an accurate description of crushing, and “amino oxides” differs from the diagram’s “amine oxide.” “Sox” and “cap of l as lather” are also unclear descriptions of the final products. Aim for precise process terms and check spelling and collocations; for instance, describe strips being crushed into pulp and long fibres being separated by filtering.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

Most sentences use a simple subject–verb pattern, and the sequence is generally expressed in the present tense. However, grammatical errors are frequent and sometimes obscure meaning. Examples include “This photos shows” (incorrect demonstrative and agreement), “It consist of many steps,” “The farmer grow,” and “Then it go.” Articles and sentence construction are also problematic in “The first and the basic is that to plant the bamboo,” while “In this water we add water” creates an unclear structure. There is little variety beyond short statements joined by “Then.” Practise accurate present-simple forms, singular and plural agreement, and complete sentence patterns. For example: “The bamboo is harvested in autumn, then cut into strips.”
