Student answer (Band 5.5)

The diagram provide detailed process of making fabric from a bamboo trees.

Overall, manufacturing of clothes from bamboo take 9 step, first there step illustrate the bamboo formation unitil to bring to machine for cutting, next three step explain how to make thread from it and last 3 step step to manufacturing of fabric such as clothes socks and sweaters and etc.

The bamboo are planted in spring and harvested in autumn, after the harvesting it is bring to machine to be cutted into to strips. When the strips are made, than we crush strips are uses to make liquid pulp and brought for filtration process to filter long fibres of bamboo from liquid futhermore the six step is a major step in which we add water and chemical(amine oxide) to soften the fibres and the this soften fibre is used to make thread and give a circular shape known as spin. The final stages is to make differents types for fibric, such as rectulgular shape clothes(weave) then which we barrow from store, mall and factories to make shirts, pents, socks, sweaters and many other products make of fabric.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the process as a sequence and include several key stages: planting in spring, harvesting in autumn, cutting, crushing, filtering, softening, spinning and weaving. The overview also recognises that the process ends in fabric and clothing. However, some details are unclear or inaccurate: the diagram shows finished clothing items, specifically a T-shirt and socks, not sweaters or a route through stores, malls and factories. The description of the stages is also not always precise—for example, weaving produces fabric, while the final step shows clothing products. To strengthen the response, give a concise overview of the full progression from growing bamboo to finished garments, then report each stage accurately without adding unsupported details.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an overview followed by a description of the stages, and the process is generally presented in the correct order. Sequencing expressions such as “after,” “when,” and “the final stages” help guide the reader. However, the overview is difficult to follow because several stages are compressed into one long sentence, and the body paragraph contains a lengthy chain of ideas joined by “and,” “then,” and “furthermore.” Some references are unclear, such as “this soften fibre” and “which we barrow from store.” Organise the process into clearer stages and use shorter sentences with precise links between them; this would make the progression easier to follow without relying on repeated connectors.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant process vocabulary, including “harvested,” “strips,” “liquid pulp,” “filtration,” “fibres,” “amine oxide,” “spin,” and “weave.” These terms show an attempt to describe the diagram specifically. However, several word choices or forms are inaccurate or unnatural, including “bamboo formation,” “thread” where “yarn” is more precise, “circular shape” for the spun yarn, and “rectulgular shape clothes.” There are also spelling errors such as “fibric,” “pents,” and “barrow,” which reduce precision. Aim for accurate process collocations and check spelling; for example, describe fibres being spun into yarn and yarn being woven into fabric. Avoid adding product or retail vocabulary not shown in the diagram.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a passive construction in “The bamboo are planted in spring and harvested in autumn” and a sequence linked with “after.” The main stages can generally be understood, but some errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence boundaries make parts difficult to read. For example, “The diagram provide” needs subject–verb agreement, while “it is bring to machine” has an incorrect passive form and missing articles. The sentence beginning “When the strips are made” runs on through several stages, with unclear clause connections. Practise accurate passive forms for processes (“the strips are crushed”) and divide long sequences into complete sentences. Careful punctuation and agreement would make your range more controlled.
