Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Write at least 150 words.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The diagram illustrates the process of how manufactured the fabric from bamboo. In total , there are nine siginificant stages of manufacturing.
Overall the fabric making from bamboo collecting from forest , and cutting adding some chemicals and separating the liquids and crushing and making yarn finally making to weave fabric.
Firstly, collecting the bamboo plants and harvesting it and cutting its strips.conversely to crushing its strips to make liquid pulp in fourth stage.next to adding some filters to separating the long fibres from liquids.addition of some water and amine oxide chemical to make the fabric soften in the sixth stage.
examination of processing the seventh stages of process after adding the oxide making a spine to a yarn like a thread or a wollen type.finally the yarn stage to another stage of making a weave to fabric from these we make clothes. It be like a life cycle of making fabric from bamboo.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the process as having nine stages and include several relevant steps, such as harvesting, cutting, crushing, filtering, softening with water and amine oxide, spinning, and weaving. The closing reference to making clothes also reflects the final illustration. However, the account is only partly clear and does not consistently report the sequence accurately: the overview says “cutting adding some chemicals and separating the liquids and crushing,” which places crushing after later stages, while the diagram shows crushing before filtering and softening. Some steps are also described imprecisely, such as “adding some filters” rather than filtering the pulp. To strengthen the response, give a clear overview of the progression from planting to finished clothing, then describe each stage in the correct order.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has an opening, an overview, and two paragraphs describing stages, so there is an attempt to organise the information. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “next to,” and “finally” also help signal progression. However, the overall flow is difficult to follow because the overview lists actions in a confusing order, and the middle paragraph combines several stages in long, loosely connected fragments. The transition “conversely” does not express the relationship between cutting and crushing, and “examination of processing” does not clearly introduce the next stage. Use one paragraph for the overview and organise the details in the diagram’s sequence, with simple links such as “After this,” “The pulp is then filtered,” and “In the final stages.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “harvesting,” “liquid pulp,” “fibres,” “amine oxide,” “yarn,” and “weave.” These terms show an effort to describe the diagram rather than relying only on general language. However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or unclear: “collecting the bamboo plants” is less precise than describing planting and harvesting, “adding some filters” does not convey the filtering action, and “making a spine to a yarn” appears to mean spinning fibres into yarn. There are also spelling errors such as “siginificant” and “wollen.” Aim for precise process verbs and check spelling; for example, use “filter the pulp,” “spin the fibres into yarn,” and “weave the yarn into fabric.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts to use both an overview and sequencing clauses, but sentence control is weak and the range of accurate structures is limited. Several sentences are fragments or lack a clear subject and verb, including “conversely to crushing its strips to make liquid pulp in fourth stage” and “addition of some water and amine oxide chemical to make the fabric soften.” Verb forms and sentence construction are also problematic in “The diagram illustrates the process of how manufactured the fabric” and “It be like a life cycle.” Punctuation and spacing errors, such as the missing space after “bamboo.”, further interrupt reading. Practise writing complete sentences with a clear subject and passive process forms, for example, “The strips are crushed to produce liquid pulp.”
