Student answer (Band 5.5)
The diagram demonstrate the process of how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.
Overall, the fabric is not simply make, first it is in bamboo form then after process and some creativity it become a fabric that is ready to wear for individuals.
To begin with, when Spring season is come the farmers plants bamboo in a huge amount after this in a Autumn season it is ready and its time to cut these bamboos.
The main step is coming where bamboo put in the cutting machine where it cuts into strips. Moreover these strips were also cuts to make a liquid form then its go for filter where long fibers were separate from liquid and after this add water and amino oxide in the soften fibers and spin it to make this in the yarn form. After passing all these process it will now ready to make fabrics like; socks, shirts and other kind of fabrics which is made by bamboo fabric.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the process as beginning with bamboo cultivation and ending with wearable products, and you include several central stages: cutting, crushing, filtering, softening and spinning. This gives the reader a relevant account of the diagram. However, some stages are not fully or accurately reported. The overview says the material becomes fabric, but does not clearly summarise the full progression from plant to finished clothing. You also omit the weaving stage, and describe the final products as “fabrics” rather than the clothing shown. The seasonal details are included, although the harvesting step could be distinguished more clearly from cutting. A more complete overview and precise coverage of all nine stages would make the report more effective.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall sequence: an introduction, an overview, and a body paragraph that follows the production stages. Phrases such as “To begin with,” “after this,” and “Moreover” help signal progression. However, the body is compressed into one long paragraph, and several transitions are mechanical or unclear. For example, “after this add water and amino oxide in the soften fibers and spin it” combines two separate stages without clearly showing their order. The final sentence also moves abruptly from yarn to finished products, leaving out weaving. Use separate paragraphs for the overview and process details, and connect each stage explicitly so the reader can follow the diagram without having to infer links.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant process vocabulary, including “harvesting,” “strips,” “filter,” “fibers,” “spin,” and “yarn,” which helps communicate the main subject. There are also attempts at more descriptive phrasing, such as “ready to wear.” However, several word choices and collocations are imprecise or repetitive: “some creativity” does not describe a manufacturing stage, “liquid form” is less exact than “liquid pulp,” and “make fabrics like; socks, shirts” confuses fabric with clothing. “Huge amount” is also vague for describing cultivation. Aim for precise process terms and avoid adding unsupported or conversational wording. More accurate choices such as “woven into fabric” and “finished garments” would improve clarity and control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the sequence is generally understandable. However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction are frequent enough to make some sentences awkward. Examples include “The diagram demonstrate,” “the farmers plants,” and “when Spring season is come”; these need subject–verb agreement and appropriate tense forms. In “the fabric is not simply make,” the passive construction is incorrect, while “after this add water” lacks a clear grammatical subject. The long sentence beginning “The main step is coming” also joins several stages without reliable clause structure. Practise accurate present-simple passive forms for processes, such as “the strips are crushed,” and check agreement and articles when editing.
