Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Write at least 150 words.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
This flow chart illustrates the procedure of fabric which madeup from bamboo.
Overall, It includes 9 major steps starting from plantation of bamboo and ends with manufactured clothes.
To begin with, process initiates by planting bamboo plants in the spring season which are going to harvest in the autumn season manually by labours. Then, harvested crop of bamboo are cut into strips with mechanical cutter leading to make liquid pulp. After that, filteration is a next step where long fibres would seperated from liquid through funnel.
Beyond that, extracted fibres comes in contact with amine oxide and water to make it softer. Moreover, spinning is done to make yarn and weaving is another task where fabric comes into main picture. After all processing varities of clothes manufactured such as T-shirts, socks and skirts.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the process as having nine stages and give a relevant overview from planting bamboo to producing clothing. You also report several key steps, including harvesting in autumn, cutting, filtering, softening, spinning and weaving. However, some details are inaccurate or unclear: the diagram shows crushing the strips to make liquid pulp before filtering, but your sentence makes the cutting itself lead to pulp. The final products shown are a T-shirt and socks; “skirts” is not supported by the diagram. The response also falls 17 words short of the required minimum, which limits the detail available. To strengthen the report, describe the stages in order and clarify the transformation from strips to pulp, fibres, yarn, fabric and clothing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction and overview are followed by two paragraphs describing the stages. The sequence is generally easy to follow, and linking expressions such as “To begin with,” “Then,” “After that” and “Moreover” help guide the reader. However, the progression becomes less precise where “leading to make liquid pulp” skips over the crushing stage, and “Beyond that” does not clearly signal the transition from filtering to fibre treatment. Some links feel mechanical rather than showing the exact relationship between stages. Use a consistent sequence of stages and connect each action to its result—for example, explain that crushing produces pulp, which is then filtered.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant process vocabulary, including “harvest,” “strips,” “liquid pulp,” “fibres,” “spinning” and “weaving,” which helps communicate the main stages. There are also attempts at more formal wording, such as “manufactured.” However, several word choices and forms are inaccurate or unnatural, including “procedure of fabric,” “plantation of bamboo,” “filteration,” and “comes into main picture.” Spelling errors such as “seperated” and “varities” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise process collocations and check spelling: for instance, describe “the manufacture of bamboo fabric,” say fibres are “separated,” and refer to “the final products” rather than using an informal expression.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of sentence forms, including a passive construction in “which are going to harvest” and a longer sequence using “leading to.” The stages remain broadly understandable, but errors occur in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction. For example, “fabric which madeup from bamboo” needs a correctly formed passive, while “harvested crop of bamboo are cut” has a singular/plural agreement problem. “Long fibres would seperated” is missing the auxiliary verb, and “extracted fibres comes” has incorrect agreement. Use the present simple passive consistently for a process: “The bamboo is harvested,” “the strips are crushed,” and “the fibres are separated.” This will make the sequence clearer and more accurate.
